In their own words:

salon q is a welcoming, open social environment for the entire queer community. we meet every second tuesday at exciting, interesting queer-positive venues. 

salon q was started in the fall of 2004 by a group of queer friends who were desperate to find a date—without the smoke, the same old scene, or craigslist. since then, it's been everything from a social sphere to a networking hotspot. 

our goal, simply, is to bring people together. new in town? wanting to meet great friends—or maybe find a date? salon q is what you make it. we provide the environment, you make it happen.

Causeit, inc. supports Salon Q’s online presence and public relations—they are one of the many groups we sponsor. When we saw Salon Q was lacking a web page and email bulletin, we offered our design and business development skills, and found our groups to be great matches—we’re both committed to a thriving queer community.

Since we began supporting Salon Q, the group has grown to a list of over 850 recipients—150-250 of which show up every month. The group is represented on Twitter and Facebook and is widely recognized as one of the largest and best-respected LGBTQ social events in Portland. Check them out.
