MJ Petroni

MJ Petroni is a consultant based in San Francisco, California. He is the owner and founder of Causeit, Inc., where he leads a team supporting innovation companies through alignment coaching, thought leadership strategy and ecosystem research. Here, he has offered tangible startup support, strategic product creation, brand strategy and coaching to over 250 clients, approximately 85% of whom are minorities. He studied a combination of Sociology, Anthropology, English and Latin American Studies at Lewis and Clark College, where he conducted ethnographic research in the emerging field of Cyborg Anthropology, examining the complex relationship between humans and technology. Recently, he has been focusing on community engagement work through branded innovation and content, offering his brand strategy and executive facilitation expertise in support of a major university and a major tech company. A lifelong learner, Petroni regularly attends thought leadership conferences like the TEDxSummitCompass Summit, the Wisdom 2.0 Summit, Women 2.0 Conference and BlogHer Entrepreneurship. He also has spoken at SIBOS and will be teaching at Lewis and Clark College, as well as authoring the living Field Guide to Creating Culture of Innovation. He has also produced TEDxBellevue in coordination with other Causeit team members and is currently producing PurpleBeach in London with Annemie Ress, former Head of People Innovation at eBay Global.

Mark, the founder and chief catalyst of Causeit strategic ally ORBIT+Co, has been at the forefront of strategy, media, and technology since his Ph.D. from Harvard University, which predicted the rise of social media in 1997. He has applied ORBIT principles in his work with IBM, The Economist, McKinsey, and the U.S. Department of Education.

Mark holds an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Political Economy from Harvard University. He also served as a Research Associate at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab. He is based in the great Boston metro in the United States.

Matthew Koren is an associate with Causeit, Inc., where he manages business operations for three Causeit co-brands. He consults with startup clients around infrastructure, team development and product feasibility, with a specialization in cross-cultural communication. Koren’s academic background is in Social Psychology  (with a research focus on the implications of online communication) at Reed College.  Recently, he has been integrating knowledge from his previous career in academic success coaching for university students into work supporting a major university through innovation content work and strategic project management. Koren’s long-term strategy involves international business in Pacific Rim countries, informed by his research and travel in Asia. He is based in Portland, Oregon in the United States and regularly travels to San Francisco, California to work with Causeit's Principal and various clients.

Carri Munn is an associate at Causeit, where she brings over twenty years of private, public, and nonprofit management experience to her consulting, coaching and training practice. She has played lead roles in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative initiative development in a wide variety of projects. Carri offers broad experience in organizational culture and communication, strategy development, marketing, and governance. Her key strengths lie in designing and facilitating participatory engagements that are highly focused and lead to concrete outcomes. Carri’s energy and breadth of experience allow her to connect easily with a wide range of people.

Carri received a Masters in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from PSU and a BA in Political Theory. She currently serves as the Vice-President of the Board for Street Yoga and as an appointed member of Portland’s Public Involvement Advisory Council. Carri is based in Portland, Oregon, in the United States.

Jessica Long is a content specialist with Causeit, Inc., where she collaborates with Causeit team members and clients to craft written and aesthetic content—online and in print—with a superior and consistent blend of integrity, brand and style.  Long is also a driving force in development and operations for Causeit’s co-brands like Fliptography, managing infrastructure with a powerful blend of practicality and innovation. She specializes in translation and synthesis of diverse learning and working styles to generate cohesive, effective organizational culture and messaging. Her natural talent for working with language, systems, and communication has been refined by academic pursuits at Smith College and Portland State University and fifteen years as a progressive educator and facilitator.

Anna Choi is an associate with Causeit, Inc., where she supports team leaders and individuals in need of focused, results-oriented coaching from her home base in the Seattle Area. A fiercely-committed woman empowering the next generation of leaders through innovative models of global education, she has taken on launching TEDxBellevue: Sustainable Happiness, where she is assisted by other Causeit team members and an extraordinary team of volunteers. Before selling her financial planning practice in 2010, she founded InsideOut Investing, a wealth planning and management firm. She was also co-founder of Focus & Sustain, helping couples around budgeting, life, and family planning. Completing thousands of hours of personal and professional development training, Anna was an Eagle’s Circle member through Woodbury Financial, an Emerging Leader for Seattle-Bellevue's eWomen Network and has been featured on radio and interviewed for the "Women of Wealth" article in Wealth Manager.

Anna served on the Board of the University of Washington Alumnae, dedicated to providing full-tuition scholarships for college students, graduating from the University of Washington in Art and Community, Environment and Planning. Anna lives in Seattle with her husband and she adores nature, dancing and playing her violin.
